Assistant Workshop
Join us on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023, for the ASMP WNY Assistants Workshop — a FREE event held at dPost from 6-8 PM.
The regional film and photo industry desperately needs reliable and skilled professionals to work on sets. This workshop aims to discuss the industry opportunities available for grips and assistants. What will get you hired and fired, and how to market and advocate for yourself as a freelance assistant. You will have the chance to interact with a top-notch panel, including Steve Gabris (Photographer and ASMPWNY President), Rhea Anna (Photographer/Director), Luke Copping (Photographer, Creative Consultant, and Former ASMP National President), and Melanie Morse (Producer).
During the event, we will cover what’s expected of you on set, knowing your gear, local rates, and much more! Remember to bring your business cards!
The event will start with a meet and greet session from 6:00 to 6:30 PM, followed by a rapid-fire session starting at 6:30 PM. From 7:00 to 8:00 PM, there will be a demo/Q&A session. We have much to discuss, and we need you to be prompt because being on time is lesson one as an assistant!
