ASMP National Board Vice-Chair Michael Shay and Space for Arts Co-Founder Betsy Davison for a discussion about working with clients remotely.

Watch food photographer Michael Shay work with a common tethering software and meeting software to set up a sample wine shoot for a client to allow them to view and art direct remotely. Michael shows step by step how straightforward the process is and answers any questions about promises and pitfalls, followed by a Q&A session.

Meet Guest Presenter Betsy Davison

Betsy is the co-founder of Space for Arts. She is an innovator, entrepreneur, and community advocate. Her innovative spirit initially manifested itself through research, development and design of consumer products for which she was awarded two patents. Her focus is on strategy, partnerships, and marketing/sales. Betsy has a BS from Purdue and has completed her coursework for a MS in science and technology from Boston University.

Meet Guest Presenter Michael Shea

Michael Shay is a Portland based photographer and founder of Polara Studio. Ever since studying poetry at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop Michael has loved making beautiful images, whether those images are discovered in a line of verse or a viewfinder of a camera. He believes photography is a collaborative process and often says that it takes a village to make a photograph. His work can be found on grocery store shelves and in advertising for many national brand including Reser’s Fine Foods, Pacific Foods, and Papa Murphy’s. His people photography has appeared in catalogs and advertising for such diverse clients as Time Magazine and Norm Thompson. He is active in the local creative community, the Oregon Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) and on the National Board of American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP). When not shooting, Michael practices traditional Japanese karate, rides motorcycles, writes poetry, and brews his own beer, not necessarily in that order.
