Pressfield talks about overcoming the resistance in our lives so that we can do the “work” we are meant to do. Resistance comes in many forms. Sometimes it’s the people around us and sometimes it’s our procrastination or our pursuit of perfectionism that sabotage us. It’s a quick read and one that I’ve read multiple times.

When I was editing my documentary, Opening Our Eyes, I was struggling with how to structure the story. Even though this book is about writing for screenplays, it helped me immensely in terms of how I structured the story and the flow of the film. It gives great insight about character development and how to move your story along.
David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants by Malcolm Gladwell
I had the privilege to hear Gladwell speak at NAB (National Association of Broadcasters a few years back and I enjoyed his “out of the box” thinking. David and Goliath is his latest book and Gladwell points out numerous advantages that the “Davids” of the world have – that is if they don’t try to beat the “Goliaths” at their own game.
