This is to announce the call for candidate declarations for the 2020 ASMP National Board of Directors. If you are a current ASMP Professional or Life Member and are interested in serving on the National Board in one of four open seats for a three-year term, please review the candidate declaration protocol and the election timeline below.

Requirements for Becoming a Candidate

In 2020, the National Board will have 12 members who must be Professional Members or Life Members of ASMP. (Professional Members were formerly known as General Members.) Each board member serves a three-year term, and the terms are staggered so that four members are up for election each year. A board member can run for reelection, but cannot serve more than two terms (6 years) in a row.

The new board members will begin their three-year terms at the time of the annual Board meeting in June 2020.

Submitting Candidate Declaration

Unlike many organizations, at ASMP there is no nominating process. Rather, candidates for office declare their own candidacy. To submit your declaration of candidacy for the National Board of Directors, please send email to declaration@asmp.org with “2020 National Board Candidate Declaration” in Subject Line with at least a minimal statement of “This is to declare my candidacy for the 2020 ASMP National Board of Directors”. The declaration must be received in the National office by midnight, Friday, January 17, 2019 for inclusion on the ballot for the upcoming election in March 2020.
