This is to announce the call for candidate declarations for the 2019 ASMP National Board of Directors will be open from December 14, 2018 through January 31, 2019. If you are a current ASMP Professional Member and are interested in serving on the National Board, please review the candidate protocol and the election timetable below. If you have any questions about what the duties and responsibilities of the National Board of Directors would be during the three year term, please contact one of the current Directors to learn more about a Director’s role.
Becoming a National Board Candidate
The National Board has 12 active members who must be Professional Members or Life Members of ASMP. Each board member serves a three-year term, and the terms are staggered so that only four members are up for election each year. A board member can run for reelection, but cannot serve more than two consecutive terms (6 years).
Unlike many organizations, at ASMP there is no nominating process. Rather, candidates for office declare their own candidacy by submitting the candidate declaration form (PDF) to email@example.com. The declaration must be received in the National office by midnight, Thursday, January 31, 2019 for the upcoming election in March 2019.
The new board members will begin their terms at the time of the annual Board meeting in June 2019.
2019 National Board Election Timetable and Process

Wednesday, February 13, 2019: Deadline for candidates to provide their ballot information and statements.
