I am a lifestyle and people photographer working mostly in the corporate and advertising arenas. My business philosophy is to treat people the way you would want to be treated. That goes for both clients and vendors. I try to do my very best on every job no matter how big or small in order to develop long term, profitable relationships.

Job For a Drug Manufacturer

This job did not have a Purchase Order, but I did receive a signed copy of the estimate which was faxed back to my studio prior to the start of the shoot. I will often get confirmation for shoots this way.

The only difference between the estimate and invoice was in production cost. We were able to carefully watch the expenses and had a surplus at the end of the shoot. After a brief discussion with the Art Buyer, much of that surplus was distributed to all the production staff as bonuses. That is why the expenses for the assistants and stylist are higher on the invoice.

On the invoice there is a charge labeled “Travel — Car Wreck Model   $96.60.” One of our models was in a car accident on the way to the shoot. The car was totaled, so they took a cab the rest of the way. The client OKed this expense verbally and, since they were paying me a lot of money for the shoot, this is one expense I felt that I need not get written permission for authorization. If they decided not to pay for it, I could cover it.
