ASMP Announces the New “Education Partner Program” as
Part of Its 80th Anniversary Celebration
San Francisco, December 2, 2025 — The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) is proud to announce the creation of its new initiative: the ASMP Education Partner Program (EPP). This program connects colleges, graduate schools, and high schools throughout the world with the leading trade association for photographers and visual creators. The program will begin accepting academic partners in January of 2026.
“Time and again, we have heard from educators and institutions that they have the skills and expertise to help foster the creativity of their students, but they can use support and assistance helping prepare students for the real-life challenges of being a visual creator in this day and age. That is where ASMP comes in, and that is where we excel,” says Thomas Maddrey, ASMP’s Chief Executive Officer.
The new program will provide exclusive educational content that can be used to supplement existing curriculum or stand alone as a resource for both student and faculty. By becoming an Education Partner, schools will receive Memberships for all Visual Arts Faculty; videos, PDF’s, and other exclusive materials only available to Partner Institutions; and a wide variety of networking and industry connection opportunities with the leading photographers and creators across the world.
ASMP Chief Operating Officer Melanie Porter recounts the development of the EPP. “This program came out of conversations that began with key educators and photographers who serve on the board of ASMP Colorado, one of our most engaged chapters. Hearing from the educators on the ground about what they need and what ASMP can offer was invaluable, and those conversations served as the genesis for the new launch of the EPP.”
“Over the last 80 years, ASMP has been a resource for not only the current generation of professionals, but the next generation as well. The new EPP bridges this gap by providing a cost-effective resource that only ASMP can offer,” says ASMP National Board Chair Kevin Brusie.
The new EPP will formally launch in January of 2026, and interested institutions are encouraged to reach out to Maddrey & Porter to discuss their specific needs and to sign up for more information.
