
San Francisco, December 4, 2025 — During its 80th Anniversary celebrations, the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) is honored to announce the formation of the ASMP Advisory Board (AAB) which will bring together photographers with industry and business leaders to create an advisory body to assist ASMP chart a path to remain the leading trade association for photographers, videographers, and visual content creators around the world.
“Bringing together the leading voices in media, photography, business, and copyright is the goal of the new ASMP Advisory Board. And our three inaugural members represent those preeminent thought leaders,” says Melanie Porter, ASMP’s Chief Operating Officer. “When we first began to assemble this group, we wanted to draw from the best minds in the industry. We can safely say with these selection that we have cleared that high bar.”
The three new ASMP Advisory Board Members who will be launching this new program are:
- Keith Kupferschmid, Chief Executive Officer / Copyright Alliance
- Jessica Sibley, Chief Executive Officer / TIME
- Hiram Trillo, Chief Operating Officer / Geekoto US
ASMP Chief Executive Officer Thomas Maddrey knows how valuable this type of world-class expertise can be to an organization like ASMP. “Having one of the world’s leading voices across all media, the leader of the most important copyright organization in Washington, and a world-class, internationally known photographer and executive is a boon for ASMP. These voices strengthen our message, provide valuable, real-world advice and guidance, and bring unmatched respect and expertise to this new body. We are privileged to have them.”
Likewise, ASMP National Board Chair Kevin Brusie is looking forward to gaining new insights from these leaders. “ASMP is comprised of working photographers and creators, and for 80 years has been the voice of this industry. Now, that voice is bolstered by the experience, knowledge, and gravitas of these leaders, and we are looking forward to exchanging ideas, information, and ways to help move the industry ahead in a time of great change.”
The new ASMP Advisory Board will hold its first meeting in Q1 of 2026, and additional Members will be announced throughout the coming year.
