Philadelphia, PA… The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) will sponsor and host a number of important events at this year’s Photo Plus Expo, the preeminent photographer trade event of the year. The Expo will be held October 28-30, 2010 at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York. ASMP’s participation includes sponsorship of seminars on current business topics and a presentation on copyright practices. ASMP will also have a presence at Booth #959 and will host representatives from the US Copyright Office and from the Picture Licensing Universal System (PLUS).
ASMP sponsored seminars will include: What Every Photographer Should Know About Copyright with Speakers Richard Kelly, ASMP President, and Susan Carr, ASMP Education Director; Reviving Creativity with Speaker Sean Kernan; Sales and Negotiating Skills for Photographers with Speakers Blake Discher, Judy Herrmann, Richard Kelly, Susan Carr and Todd Joyce; Multimedia & Video with Speakers Gail Mooney and Paula Lerner; and Breaking Into the Biz: What Every Student and Emerging Photographer Should Know with Speaker Judy Herrmann.

According to Executive Director Eugene Mopsik, “ASMP considers the Expo to be an exceptional networking and educational venue. ASMP’s Annual Member Meeting will take place Friday evening October 29th. The meeting will feature presentations by Mopsik and Kelly. There will also be a keynote address by Special Guest Tom Kennedy, who will discuss the future of media.
