Jason Houge is a freelance Photojournalist, Award-Winning Documentary Photographer, Author and Educator. He has covered a broad range of social issues including political unrest, human rights, health care, poverty and homelessness, animal rights, religion, the environment and water scarcity. Houge was a recipient of the first-ever annual Yunghi Grant in 2015. He’s earned an honorable mention twice for a LUCIE International Photography Award and a shortlist entry for Burn Magazine’s 2014 Emerging Photographer Fund. His photography has been internationally published by NPR, the New York Times LENS Blog, FeatureShoot, OAI13, Burn Magazine, Yoffy Publishing, Schilt Publishing and Popular Photography China. In 2019, he left his role as Sr. Associate Lecturer of Photography at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay to support his partner as she pursues an MFA in photography at the UW in Madison, WI.
