Mute swan strikes unusual pose leading ‘V’formation of Canada geese at North Park
Other park visitors have noticed the bird known as ‘Lynn Swann’spending time with his ‘adopted goose friends’

Poets swoon over the beauty and metaphor of swans. So do photographersat North Park.
“I looked in my wild heart while the wild swans went over. And what did Isee I had not seen before?” wrote Edna St. Vincent Millay in “Wild Swans” in 1921.
Marc Soracco, a professional photographer visiting North Park, wassnapping images in mid-October for an upcoming book on the park and saw something new: A mute swan lifting off and climbing into the sky, leading a flock of Canada geese in a V formation.
Waterfowl and other birds are migrating through the region now for the fall, heading to southern and coastal destinations for the winter.
The unusual North Park flight was poetry in motion.
