How to Master the Four Properties of Light: A Subject-Centric Approach to Lighting
Presented by featured speaker Don Giannatti
Featured speaker Don Giannatti has been a professional photographer for half a century (!), and in that time he’s become a sought-after speaker on the topic of light. In August, he’ll be joining us to share his insights and help you illuminate your knowledge of lighting, no matter how well you think you understand it already.
Here’s a brief overview of this talk:
Light has four major properties that affect the way photographers use it. Understanding how light interacts with the subject is one of the most important aspects of the creative process.
The fact that light does the same thing every time gives us a base point to begin to look at the subject’s properties to see how they differ, and what we can do with that knowledge to create what we see in our mind’s eye.
We will examine how these properties work with still life and portraiture.
Bring an open mind… he may give you an opportunity to challenge the way you think of light.
