Summer 2018 “Shoot the Breeze”
With summer coming out in full force, let’s get together for an informal evening of hanging out and sharing images in cool, delightful air conditioned bliss! Coming up Third Thursday, June 21, ASMP AZ/PHX will be hosting our popular “Shoot the Breeze” event at Parkwood Photo Studio.
We spend a lot of time talking about business practices and technical concerns and marketing, but Shoot the Breeze is all about the end product: You and your images! Whether it’s client work, personal work, video, alternative work, or cool Instagram shots, we all want to see it!
Join us at this event to socialize with your fellow photographers, see some great images, and share what you’ve been working on recently. As as always, we’ll provide the refreshments and snacks, you just bring yourself, your images, and a friend or two!
In addition to the image sharing and social time, Limited portfolio reviews will be available (please RSVP for reviews to Scott Farence so we can book time for you).
We hope to see you there!
Slide Show
We know you’ve got work you want to share, and we all want to see it! Once we’ve all had time to mingle and satisfy our munchies, there will be time to share your images (or video!) on the studio’s big screens, or show off your gorgeous prints.
To make things easiest on us, put together a tight edit of work you want to share and email it to Colin Mattson before the event. If you’re the indecisive type, you can also bring your images on a thumb drive to the event. (And please come early if possible so we can add your images to the slideshow!) If you have video to share, please bring it with you on a USB or Thunderbolt drive.
File Specs
For the best results, process your images using these guidelines:
Size: Big enough, but not too big. (At least 1440 px wide)
Color space: sRGB
File type: High-quality JPEG, about 1-3MB
Naming: ‘Your Name 1.jpg’, ‘Your Name 2.jpg’, etc.
Number of images: Around 5 (non-members), Up to 10ish (members). (Membership has its benefits!)
Portfolio Reviews
Emerging photographers, assistants, students — we’d love to see what you shoot! If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to show your work to established photographers, this is your chance. We’ll have an area set aside to allow you to spend some time in an informal review. We suggest that you only bring your best work and keep your book concise, please. Please let us know that you’re coming so that we can plan accordingly.
