FOCUS judging is underway!

Thank you to everyone that submitted your images to Philadelphia Focus 2017. We are currently in the process of having all the images review by our judges.

This year are three amazing judges are: Jamie Leary, Thom Carroll, and Ron Beinner

Jamie Leary is the Design Director of Philadelphia Magazine, where he’s worked since 2013. Previously, he worked for ten years at Red Flag Media, an independent magazine publisher, where he was the founding Art Director for Decibel, a beloved national newsstand heavy metal monthly, and Grid, the free monthly bible of the local Philadelphia sustainability community. He studied English, film and philosophy at the University of Delaware. His unconventional art education began in earnest while working at the Delaware College of Art and Design. He’s also studied at Philadelphia University and the Rhode Island School of Design. He lives in Elkins Park with his wife and three kids, who keep him busy once he turns off the computer.

Thom Carroll is a Philadelphia-based staff photographer, photo editor, and videographer working in digital media. He teaches the fundamentals of digital and film photography and has freelanced for the past 10 years. Carroll graduated from Temple University with a degree in journalism with a concentration in photography and art history.

Ron Beinner is contributing photography producer at Vanity Fair magazine, based in New York City. He’s produced portraits for the magazine on location near and far since 1998. His love of photography editing and wanderlust started in grade school when he’d take family vacation pictures with his parents Kodak Brownie and organize them into albums. His love of photography and working around the globe continues today.
