Estimating & Negotiating with Frank Meo
The process of running a photography business can be an intimidating task.
Whether it’s estimating, negotiating or writing a creative brief it’s not easy and the task can feel insurmountable.
Most photographers are not comfortable in this space for fear of not knowing what the client wants or what to charge.
Estimating is about creatively separating yourself from the competition and connecting with your client. Plain and simple it is a nuanced approach that leads to successful bids and being awarded jobs.
My approach is always collaborative, for any project we must work as a team.
Over the years, I’ve estimated jobs for every genre of photographer from commercial to photojournalist.
We will answer all your questions via a single real life study and show you the best way to engage with a client so that you can win jobs.

The LIVE event will take place in Columbus, OH at Eric Wagner’s Illumination Studio (Location info below). Social time for food and drinks is from 6:00pm until 6:30pm. The presentation and Zoom meeting begins at 6:30pm.

Founder of thephotocloser.com, Frank Meo advises and consults with photographers from around the globe. He is a curator. His services include estimating and negotiating of behalf of photographers to ad agencies and directly to clients.
For 25 years, has represented fine art, commercial photographers as well as Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalists in securing highly valued commercial assignments. He has worked on hundreds of company photo libraries and campaigns for clients such as Verizon, American Express, Acura Motor Sports, US Coast Guard, Xerox, ESPN, Citibank, Nike and others.
Meo participates on various panels and workshops for: PhotoShelter, the International Center of Photography (ICP), The Eddie Adams Workshop,The Art Directors Club, Syracuse University and The One Club for Art & Copy, American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), and Advertising Photographers of America (APA), PDN Expo and Palm Springs Photo Festival. He was a nominator for the prestigious Infinity Awards. He is a judge for various award shows around the world, among them: PDN Photo, Sienna Photo Awards, Moscow Photography Awards and the Lucie Awards.
