How will this impact the world of the commercial photographer? What creative and business opportunities does it open up? What processes or jobs might it foreclose? How are agencies and clients using it? What should a photographer be learning now?
On March 14th at 7pm Eastern, ASMP Ohio Valley will have a Zoom panel discussion to cover these and more topics to help photographers find their way. Confirmed panelists include: Weston Fuller discussing where he sees generative AI fitting amidst shooting, retouching, compositing, and photo manipulation; Katelin Kinney discussing her first AI-based commercial gig; Teri Campbell sharing how AI image generation has him more excited than when he got his first camera; ASMP Chief Legal Counsel Thomas Maddrey, speaking to proposed legislation now being worked on related to AI laws and a few AI related / copyright related lawsuits and matters; and Ben Ko reviewing examples of how agencies, clients, and filmmakers are already incorporating generative AI into their workflows.

He regularly briefs the Supreme Court and other courts around the nation on issues affecting creatives and has been Counsel of Record in the industry’s support of ASMP Member Lynn Goldsmith in her landmark lawsuit against the Andy Warhol Foundation. Prior to his legal career, Maddrey was a commercial and editorial photographer specializing in nature and wildlife images.
BEN KO Ben is well-known in the New York City running community for his race photography and portraiture, where his photos are regularly used by his subjects for social media, websites, and advertising. His work has been used by Fortune 100 companies such as Dell and Microsoft and has appeared in publications such as Runner’s World, SELF Magazine, The New York Times, and New York Daily News.
