The New Orleans/Gulf South Chapter of ASMP is a regional resource for professional and emerging photographers to promote better business practices and foster creativity through education, outreach, and networking.

It’s election time at the New Orleans/Gulf South Chapter of ASMP!

If you’d like to join the board, this is your moment. Any member at any level can declare their candidacy.

If you are a chapter member, we would very much like you to join the current members on the board: Kathy Anderson, Tom Beck, Ray Laskowitz, Tim Mueller, and Steve Sabrier.

You don’t have to be physically present at every meeting or event to participate on a board. Board meetings are held via Zoom at 5pm on the third Monday of each month. Meetings normally last no more than 90 minutes.

Meet people you might otherwise never meet and learn things you might otherwise never learn. No less, we need your expertise and ideas – and so do your peers.

So, support your fellow photogs and gear-heads as a board member by offering to update website content, send emails, help plan and hang out at programs, events, meetings, and parties. You can even help set up chairs! What could be more fun than that?

The election schedule will be as follows:

You may declare your interest in serving any time from May 5, 2021 to June 5, 2021 by submitting an email to National election staff at declaration@asmp.org. Please include “New Orleans/Gulf South Board Candidate Declaration” in the subject line.

Currently there is no limit to the number of chapter board members so all declared candidates will be automatically seated to the board.

The first board meeting following the declaration period will be Monday, June 21, 2021 at 5 pm. At this meeting, members of the board will hold an election of officers. Any board member may run for the officer seat of their choice.

Any questions, please submit to declaration@asmp.org.
