Q&A after screening with Director Stephen Wilke & Jay Maisel
JAY MYSELF documents the monumental move of renowned photographer and artist, Jay Maisel, who, in February of 2015 after 48 years, begrudgingly sold his home; the 35,000 square-foot, 100-year-old landmark building in Manhattan simply known as “The Bank.” Through the intimate lens of filmmaker and Jay’s protégé, noted artist and photographer Stephen Wilkes, the viewer is taken on a remarkable journey through Jay’s life as an artist, a mentor, and man grappling with time, life, change, and the end of an era in New York City.
Our partner B&H Photo and their award-winning B&H Photography Podcast have booked an entire theater and invited ASMP members to come (free) to the screening of JAY MYSELF with a special after-show Q&A with Steven Wilkes and Jay Maisel as a way of saying thank you to our local ASMP New York Photographers!
