Join ASMP NY Chapter President Liam Alexander in conversation with Seattle board member Dean Wenick, renowned NFT artist Rebecca Rose, and Club NFT Founder, Chris King. We will be discussing some of the basics: what is an NFT, what does this mean for my image, the community aspect;,sales, marketplaces, minting and listing, and what is possible in the future.
Rebecca Rose is a Central Florida NFT hologram artist exploring digital collage, and exhibition curator. She is on NFT curatorial teams for MakersPlace, The Mynt, and SearchLight, and has curated NFT exhibitions for The Blockchain Center NY, Miami Bitcoin Conference, Soho House Hong Kong, NFT.NYC, Art Basel Miami Beach, and metaverse exhibitions in CrytpoVoxels and Decentraland. Rebecca is a featured speaker at this year’s NFT.NYC and also interviews top gallerists in the NFT space for articles at NFTsWTF. As a sculptor, before entering crypto art, her full body of work has been awarded multiple artist grants co-sponsored by The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, Andy Warhol Foundation, Joan Mitchell Foundation, Willem de Kooning Foundation, Andrew Mellon Foundation, and Bloomberg Philanthropic.
Chris King is a full-stack engineer and serial entrepreneur, building tools and educational resources for NFT collectors, as CTO and co-founder of ClubNFT along with CEO and co-founder Jason Bailey (aka Artnome). Chris started his career twelve years ago in FinTech and LegalTech startups, some of which he continues to serve as an advisor. Chris worked for nearly six years as a senior engineer and tech lead, at Google, in the LegalWorks department.
Dean Wenick is a photographer and advocate for the rights of photographers. He has worked with several pricing and licensing models, from work for hire, to defined rights licensing. As a board member of ASMP Seattle/NW, he has helped organize many educational events for photographers.
Dean became aware of NFTs early in 2021 and immediately saw a tool photographers could use in many ways. He is eager to share what he has been learning and is making resources are available at https://linktr.ee/deanwenick.
Liam Alexander is a fine artist and creative director whose intention is catalyzing social change through artistic expression. Liam has created community focused creative projects such as: IThou at the NYU Kimmel Galleries, The Exchange at Rush Arts, #StrokeofGenius, and Being an Artist. His work has been featured in gallery exhibitions and art fairs throughout the United States, at the second annual Toolkit Festival in Venice, Italy, and published in magazines including: Kolaj, Nylon and Rolling Stone. He has creates projects with major brands including: Wix.com, The City of New York, Samsung, SAP, and Renaissance Hotels.
