Big Brain Meeting Tuesday 9/24/19
Why Should I Join a Brain Trust?
One of the main reasons people join ASMP is for community and for support with the
challenges of working as a professional photographer. ASMPNY’s Brain Trust groups
provide a structure for this type of connection and information. At the moment there are
11 Brain Trust groups meeting under the auspices of ASMPNY.
What Is a Brain Trust?
It’s a peer group within ASMPNY for feedback, answers and support. Photographers
meet on a regular basis to share information and help each other with their careers. The
regular get- togethers provide an opportunity to learn and have questions answered, as
well as help provide connections to a broader community of photographers.
What Is The Big Brain Meeting?
An overview of how ASMPNY’s Brain Trust program works, an opportunity to bring a
real-life issue to the group, and an opportunity to join a group. At this introductory
meeting, as an example of what might come up in a typical Brain Trust group, we will
explore a specific issue of concern. If you have a question you would like to ask relating
to the art or business of photography please bring it along.
Issues to consider include:
Contracts, copyright, negotiating, pricing, marketing, working with assistants, finding
affordable and reliable resources, and staying on track with goals. At the end of the
evening anyone attending will have the opportunity to join a Brain Trust group.
