Zoom In On Wellness – May 14th
May 14, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Free – $20.00
As photographers, we make our living with our photos. We make our photos with our bodies and minds, and we could do a better job of taking care of them. Physical Therapist, Marco Volpe, will teach us about body mechanics, and proper lifting techniques. We’ll do stretching and meditation with Emilie Amstutz of Borealis Community Yoga.
Please wear comfortable clothing. No mats necessary for yoga.
Because of the generosity of our sponsors, you’ll have a change to win one of these prizes!

Detailed Schedule:
*6:00 – 9:00 pm Chair Massages – Every 15 minutes / Sign up at the door
Unfortunately our massage therapist had to cancel. We are working on finding a massage therapist for our event.
If we can find a new therapist, there will be a sign up list at the door. It’s first come, first serve. First massage at 6PM and last at 8:45PM.
6:00 – 7:00 pm Social Hour
Taste some kombucha from Health-Ade Kombucha!
7:15 – 7:45 pm Better Health Through Better Body Mechanics w/ Marco Volpe PT, DPT, OCS
Ever wonder if there’s a better way to move around with all that gear? There is!
Marco will be teaching us how to stand, lift, carry, bend, and move properly to protect our bodies from injury. Whether you’re in front of a computer or behind a camera, you’ll learn new tricks for maintaining your physical health through body mechanics.
8:00 – 8:45 pm Yoga and Meditation w/ Emilie Amstutz
Enjoy the benefits of a few simple stretches, breath techniques and meditation to relieve the stress and occasional discomfort that can result from simply living in the real world. Learn how breath work can help to both energize and relax you. Enjoy stretches and exercises for your neck, back and legs to ease tension that don’t require a fancy yoga mat. Then end with a simple guided meditation to help you connect with the things you love most about this big crazy life.
Fun Fact: Among Emilie’s many talents, is her certification in Broga. That’s yoga for bros and people who can’t touch their toes. So, no excuses, folks! Everyone is welcome.
About our Presenters:
Dinah Shatz, Acupuncturist, Massage Therapist
Dinah graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture in 1981. Since that time she has continued her training with post-graduate studies including Chinese style massage as well as in other related fields. She has a solo practice doing massage, acupuncture, and Reiki. Dinah’s style is eclectic: a mix of Swedish and acupressure as well as other techniques she learned along the way. She is strongly influenced by the energy work that she does as an acupuncturist, and her understanding of Chinese medicine.
