Community Conversation #1: Video Tips & Tricks and Working on Location Today
July 14, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
ASMP New England invites you to join us Tuesday evening, July 14, from 8:00—10:00 pm, for the first in a series of community conversations about the challenges of being a professional photographer in today’s environment. Each iteration of these interactive events with offer two topics for conversation. After an introduction to the subject we will reach out to meeting attendees for your views and ideas. This event is free for members and non-members, but registration is required.
For this first event, ASMP/NE Board – Chapter Video Content Creator, Duncan Wilder Johnson, will moderate a conversation about Video Tips & Tricks. Duncan will start with an overview of his equipment and systems. He will then open the conversation to all things video; online resources, equipment, formats, editing, client expectations and educating clients, estimating and quoting video versus still, and how Covid has affected your day to day business. If you have been thinking about adding motion to your still practice, or were an early adopter, we would love to hear how video works in your business today.
For the evening’s second subject, ASMP/NE Board – Programs Coordinator, David Leifer, will lead a discussion on Location Assignments Today. New work is slowly starting to reappear. David will begin with his current procedures regarding location work, including safety practices with locations, subjects and clients. He will then survey the meeting attendees. Are you doing any location work? Which of your practices have changed and how? Has this affected your costs and are clients understanding of this? Have you updated your contracts and terms and conditions?
We will end the evening by soliciting ideas for future community conversations. Our hope is that in challenging times we can all help each other with specific ideas, as well as general encouragement and motivation. We look forward to seeing, and hearing from, you on July 14.
