Join us for an artist talk with questions and answers on Tuesday, February 15th, 7-9pm EST, in which Abelardo Morell will share a few of his latest projects.
Abelardo Morell has inspired photographers for 40 years.
As an American photographer, born in Cuba, he came to the United States in 1962 and discovered photography as a way to have a voice while being new to a country where he didn’t speak the language.
From 1983-2010, Morell taught at Mass Art and inspired generations of artists to use photography as a way to express their thoughts, dreams, and emotions.
His work explores curiosity, optics, metaphor, beauty, and philosophical questions by turning rooms into cameras, making photographic pictures with and without cameras, and by reimagining what it means to be a photographer.
