Copyright Registration May Become More Expensive

The US Copyright Office is considering a fee increase even though earlier this year, it limited the amount of photographs that can be registered per claim to 750 at a cost of $55.  This limit represents roughly a ten-fold price increase if you register 5,500 images like John Harrington.  Now, the US Copyright Office wants to increase the fee from $55 to $75 (new fee structure listed in III.A.1).  This is unreasonable considering the true cost increase factored into the limit of 750 per registration imposed earlier this year.  Let the US Copyright Office know that here (go to bottom and click “Copyright Office Fees Comment Submission” and then the very small “Comment Now!” button at top right of the following page.
