After more than a year, the Walker Cinema and Bentson Mediatheque will re-open this month. In-person screenings return with a pair of Minneapolis films which reflect the urgent, vibrant, collaborative, and community driven practices of artists today.

E.G. Bailey’s KEON portrays a day in the lives of an emerging Black photographer and his brothers as they encounter subtle and dangerous policing of their expression and bodies. Marcus Kar’s Strange Things gathers artists and organizers to create “a beautiful and powerful interpretation” of what he was feeling during the George Floyd uprising and unrest.
