The Rathkopf’s personal breast cancer featured on Good Morning America: Husband documents caregiving journey for wife with cancer to make others feel less alone
Anna Rathkopf was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 at the age of 37. At the time of diagnosis, our son was 2 and a half years old.
Jordan documented his experience as a co-survivor and co-parent struggling to help take care of Anna and his son while experiencing acute depression and anxiety from the trauma of the situation.
At the same time, Anna was documenting her self-portraits and photographs of her family to redefine the breast cancer experience from the patient’s point of view.
Images from this project have been featured in campaigns with Memorial Sloan Kettering and Susan G. Komen Foundation and in various media outlets.
