“The Face of Immokalee” is a public art installation in Southwest Florida. For the past four and a half years, Naples, Florida-based ASMP Member Michelle Tricca has been shooting black and white portraits of Immokalee Florida residents for the permanent exhibit.
A majority of the portraits are of children and young people who have grown and lived in Immokalee their entire lives. She says that the public art installation aims to change the outside perception of Immokalee, Florida while humanizing its hard-working agricultural community.
The portraits are being displayed on two of Lipman Family Farms’ 53-foot semi-trailer trucks and on two 50-foot walls of the company’s packing facility on East Main Street in Immokalee Florida.
The Baker Museum will also be exhibiting this work from November 18 2023 to April 28 2024.
Fiscal sponsorship for The Face of Immokalee has been provided by the ASMP Foundation.
