LACP Announces “Timeline,” a Community-Generated Archive Across Three U.S. Cities — ASMP Member Discount Available

LACP is starting a new project and all ASMP members receive the LACP members’ rate to participate. The project is called Timeline: Community-Generated Archive and will be offered in 3 cities LA, San Francisco, & Tulsa OK.  Learn more about it here.

The Timeline project responds to this moment and its complexities around the nation with mentorship, a community generated photographic archive and an exhibition that will open at LACP at the end of August 2026.

The program will launch on January 17, 2026 with cohorts in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Tulsa (Oklahoma). In each city, photographers will be mentored while capturing life in their city.

Their selected images will be added to a growing archive on the LACP website.

During the second half of the program, each artist will develop a personal project (documentary/street/photojournalism/, based on individuals/places/events/etc…).

Select works will be then featured in the curated exhibition, in addition to the growing archive.

LACP supports photographers that seek to respond to shifts happening around them wherever they are. LACP is purposefully crafting a space that will focus on a multitude of perspectives and experiences. This originated from processing everything that happened in LA this year. Between the fires, the protests and the National Guard deployment, LA’s position as a bellwether city for transformations that then happened across the nation became very clear.
