WHAT IS A BRAINTRUST: Brain Trust is an ongoing peer mentorship program.
What Is a Brain Trust?
It’s a peer group within ASMP-LA for feedback, answers and support. Photographers meet on a regular basis to share information and help each other with their careers. The regular get- togethers provide an opportunity to learn and have questions answered, as well as help provide connections to a broader community of photographers.
Why Should I Join a Brain Trust?
One of the main reasons people join ASMP is for community and for support with the challenges of working as a professional photographer. ASMP-LA’s Brain Trust groups provide a structure for this type of connection and information.
“The best part about the Brain Trust is having a group of people to call on who deal with the same day to day issues that you do – it’s the benefit of having a dialogue in a business that can often be solitary. ” — Brooklyn Brain Trust member, Jacob Blickenstaff
What Is The Big Brain Meeting?
An overview of how ASMP-LA’s Brain Trust program works, an opportunity to bring a real-life issue to the group, and an opportunity to join a group. If you have a question you would like to ask relating to the art or business of photography please bring it along.
Topics to bring to the conversation:
Contracts, copyright, negotiating, pricing, marketing, working with assistants, finding affordable and reliable resources, and staying on track with goals. At the end of the evening anyone attending will have the opportunity to join a Brain Trust group.
