November 5 – First Impressions

Your website is the center of your brand, the public face of your business, so paying attention to your end user’s experience is imperative. As we all know: you never get a second chance to make a first impression.
In this event our creatives will walk through several photographer’s websites and email promos and give at-a-glance evaluations. They will discuss their first impressions including overall design, user interface, navigation and responsiveness. They will offer their feedback and suggestions to benefit photographers when structuring or enhancing sites to optimize use, practicality, impact and consistency.
The first 15 photographers to submit their site URL will have the opportunity for evaluation. But ALL attendees will benefit from this inside look at what happens during that crucial and critical site visit. This information will be invaluable for all.
Panel will include hotshots from Dallas creative community, including:
- Katie Bunsma, Art Producer , Saatchi & Saatchi
Katie attended Art Center College of Design and started her professional career assisting LA food photographer Andrea Bricco and assisting at Los Angeles Magazine. She eventually segued from behind the camera to graphic design, recipe creation and marketing, leading to Art Production. First with Team One, LA and then Saatchi & Saatchi Dallas. Katie has a great work ethic and attention to details as well as possessing a wicked sense of humor. Katie estimates that she has viewed countless websites and portfolios in her 6 years of Art Production. She knows what she is looking for when searching websites and is happy to share. Also, do not give her the bowl of frosting; it will be inhaled immediately. -
Quitze Nelson, Photo Agent , Quitze Nelson Artist Management
Growing up in California idyllically riding horses and surfing, Quitze was abruptly uprooted and sent packing to the suburbs of Dallas. After graduating from Arizona State with a marketing degree, Quitze made it back to Dallas for her fun journey of life. She started her career in the agency world and then moved to the client side before venturing out on her own to create her rep firm. Now in her 20th year, she is representing a roster of top-notch photographers/directors who work all over the country. Quitze has seen plenty of trends in this business and has a lot to share on what websites work and ones that are missing key elements. A lover of great photography, she has an architect husband who has randomly cut holes in their kitchen ceiling because the light was not quite right, and two children about to head off to college.
