ASMP Condemns Treatment of Media, Arrest of Journalists Covering Protests

San Francisco, CA – ASMP (the American Society of Media Photographers) condemns the treatment of journalists covering recent protests in Minnesota, as well as the arrest of journalists such as Don Lemon and Georgia Fort, among others, as they performed their jobs of covering the newsworthy events transpiring in Minnesota and across the country. Yesterday, we learned about the deep and severe cuts that happened at two storied publications, The Washington Post, and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Unequivocally, these cuts further harm not only the journalists, photographers, and others directly affected, as well as their families, but also hurt society at large.
