If you’re unfamiliar with what Black History Month is, it’s an annual observance celebrated in February. During this month, people celebrate historical events and the important achievements of African-Americans. Three years ago, Cristi Smith-Jones came up with a creative way of celebrating this important month with her 5-year-old daughter. For each day of the month, Cristi had her daughter recreate an iconic photo of an influential black woman, resulting in an interesting and unique photo series.
