The New Normal: Reinventing the Creative Work Day — A Panel Discussion

May 14, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Free

All of us in the creative community are craving some group inspiration. Join our panel of ASMP-CT board members Adam Coppola, Julie Bidwell, Steve Walter and Rich Freeda to hear strategies for reinventing the creative work day as our worlds have evolved and necessitated change.

Bring your ideas and suggestions to our group as we discuss our work lives and how we are reinventing the work day.  We’ll touch on work/life balance for members at varying stages of lives and creative careers, and discuss strategies and ideas for creating a productive work day until our work lives return to normal and beyond.

This Zoom webinar will offer a question and answer period for everyone to be involved in the conversation.

ASMP-CT is offering this program to foster community and help our members to create hope, structure and purpose in whatever their work lives look like now.

About the Panel

Julie Bidwell is a commercial and editorial photographer based in Connecticut shooting portraits, lifestyle, food and interiors with a BFA from Syracuse University. Julie approaches her shoots with three basic tenets of photography: subject plus composition plus light. She sets up shots carefully and then lets the subject shine with a little guidance, whether its a portrait, food or a room.  Her lighting looks natural even if there are five lights set up — usually it’s a combination of strobe and available light.

Adam Coppola is a CT-based commercial and advertising photographer and director with 14 years of experience in the industry.  Adam’s passion for creating powerful imagery is his constant guide. With every shoot, he pushes the capabilities of lighting to the limits. On set, Adam’s easy-going personality allows for a collaborative, comfortable and focused atmosphere.  He feels fortunate to have collaborated with brands like Body Armor Energy Drink, GlaxoSmithKline, Mohegan Sun, CT Tourism, Cannondale Bikes, and Yale University.  In 2011, he and his wife spent a year biking 12,591 miles through all 50 states.  When he isn’t working on Coppola Photography projects he can be found spending time with his wife and 2 daughters, building farm tables, or surfing the RI breaks.

Rich Freeda
Equal parts portrait and documentary photographer, Rich brings more than just an upbeat enthusiasm to his personality driven images. Tirelessly working to refine production to ensure a successful shoot and unrivaled customer service are the reasons why his clients include Dunkin’ Brands, Food Network, GE, NBC Universal, SKYY Vodka, Xerox, Gatorade, WWE, RBS and BusinessWeek. An avid skier, hiker and triathlete, Rich is the devoted father of twin girls. He and his wife live in Stamford, Connecticut.

Steve Walter
Father, husband and artist. Steve Walter graduated with high honors and a degree in visual communication. Working as an art director for almost a decade, moved toward a photographic career for the past 9 years. A combination of the two backgrounds has allowed him to create some compelling imagery that in many ways combines the best of both worlds. A solid foundation of studio work as well as on location, Steve uses the tools necessary to create visually impactful imagery that is not limited to any one method.  Steve has a passion for teaching and loves “talking shop”. His first teaching job, Steve was hired by the same school he had just graduated from in 2005. After working there for 2 years, he later gained formal training as an instructor by Apple Inc. where he taught customers in-store about Apple software and hardware products for the better part of 6 years.

Registration closes two hours in advance of the program. You will receive an email with the zoom link and password.
