About ASMP CT

We are the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers. ASMP is the premier trade association for the world’s most respected photographers and the leader in promoting photographers’ rights, providing education in better business practices, producing business publications for photographers, and helping to connect clients with professional photographers. A Message from our 2023-24 Chapter President

Hello ASMP CT Chapter members! 

I’m excited to work with you in the next two years and honored that you trust I’m up for the job of Chapter President! 

When I was invited to join the board by Allegra Anderson 6 years ago I had no idea  what was in store. Getting to know the other board members and meeting so many  of you at events has reinforced the value of ASMP for me. The network of  photographers is the best part. Having people to call on with a question, being  there with an answer for others. It’s been wonderful seeing new programs brought  to our chapter by the past Board of Directors: The Annual, national speakers,  portfolio reviews, social events and more. 

Our ASMP CT chapter and ASMP National Leadership were a lifeline for me and  many members during COVID; navigating PPP, EIDL Loans, unemployment,  shooting with PPE etc… 

Now that we’re on the other side it’s so great to be back to in person events. One  of my initiatives is to have all events free for members. This includes the Annual  and portfolio reviews.  If you’re not yet a member, join now to take advantage of all these benefits.

Feel free to reach out to me or any board members with ideas, suggestions or  questions. Our board meetings are open to all members and take place on the first  Monday of the month, in the morning, either in person or online.

Board Meetings

Meetings are open to all members, not just those that serve formally on our Board. Please get in touch with us if you want to participate, have an idea to share, or need to voice a concern. We try to meet monthly, usually in-person with a virtual option, and discuss upcoming events, projects, sponsorships, and brainstorm for continued opportunities to engage and educate our membership: YOU!
