On May 16, the Copyright Alliance and Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts (TALA), in partnership with the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), hosted a panel titled “Learn About the Copyright Claims Board”. The Copyright Claims Board (or CCB) is an alternative forum to federal court to resolve certain small copyright disputes.
With the CCB due to launch before the end of June, the panel is designed to provide parties with information they will need to know to bring and defend cases before the CCB. The panel will walk attendees through each step of the CCB process from filing a case with the CCB through the final decision.
Our expert panelists, including a CCB Officer and the CCB Supervisory Copyright Claims Attorney from the U.S. Copyright Office, will answer these questions and more during the event. Panelists include:
David Carson, Copyright Claims Officer, U.S. Copyright Office
Whitney Levandusky, Supervisory Copyright Claims Attorney, Copyright Claims Board, U.S. Copyright Office
Thomas Maddrey, ASMP General Counsel & Head of National Content and Education
Terrica Carrington, Vice President of Legal Policy and Copyright Counsel, Copyright Alliance
Keith Kupferschmid, CEO, Copyright Alliance (panel moderator).
Whether you are considering bringing a case before the CCB or just interested in finding out more about this ground-breaking new tribunal at the U.S. Copyright Office, check out this excellent panel discussion.
