2026 Co-Presidents’ Message

Building Together: A Message from Your 2026 Co-Presidents

As we step into 2026, we’re honored to lead ASMP Colorado together; energized by what we can build alongside you.

We said yes to this role because we care deeply about Colorado’s photography community. We understand what it feels like to navigate this industry alone: the isolation after graduation, the uncertainty of building a sustainable practice, the weight of rapid technological change and shifting client expectations. We remember needing connection, support, and a place to belong. That’s what we’re here to create, not just for ourselves, but for every photographer in Colorado, regardless of where you are in your journey.

Our shared vision is rooted in community first. We want to strengthen the chapter’s foundation while making it feel more human, accessible, and relevant to working photographers today. That means establishing rhythm: reliable newsletters, predictable programming, and events that are simple to attend and easy to understand. We’re prioritizing connection over perfection: coffees, Open Apertures, skill-building workshops, and our growing Shutter Sisters program that centers the voices and experiences of women and femme-identifying photographers in our field.

Our leadership approach is collaborative and sustainable. We believe many hands make light work, and that strong chapters thrive when leadership provides clarity and structure while members contribute their skills and ideas in ways that fit their capacity. You can expect us to listen first, respond with intention, and communicate with transparency. We’re here to support participation that feels meaningful, not burdensome.

This year, we’re also reconnecting with former chapter leaders and long-standing members through an advisory council, honoring the foundation they built while benefiting from their institutional knowledge as we move forward. We’re deeply grateful to those who carried this chapter through challenging years and to members who continue to show up even when life is full.

We invite you to show up as you are. Bring a friend to an event. Share your ideas and feedback. Volunteer once. Or simply come listen. You don’t need to do everything to belong here. ASMP Colorado works best when it reflects the real lives of its members, and we’re building something you can engage with sustainably.

Photography can be isolating, but it doesn’t have to be. We’re here to remind you: you’re not navigating this industry alone.

Thank you for your trust, care, and continuity.

In Gratitude,

ASMP Colorado Co-Presidents
