ASMP Colorado is putting out a call out for a diverse group of 2021 Board Members. In an effort to move this chapter and organization to diversity and inclusivity, to hear a range of viewpoints and ideas, an ideal place to start is with a board that represents Colorado’s demographics for race and gender.
Here’s a snapshot of Colorado from a July 2019 estimate on the Census.gov website:
In rounding up, if we keep 16 board members this is what would be ideal and the very minimum for BIPOC, LGBTQ and whites:
- 50% female ~ 8
- 22% Latinx ~ 4
- 5% Black ~ 1
- 5% LGBTQ from the Movement Advancement Project ~ 1
- 4% Asian ~ 1
- 2% Indigenous ~ 1
- 68% white ~ 11
Positions available are:
- At Large
- VP, and possibly

If you’re interested, please feel free to contact one of our board members or fill out this short application. Please share this with your photographer friends you think might benefit from this opportunity. We see a diverse group of 2021 board members as a great benefit to our organization.
ASMP’s core mission is to advocate, educate and provide community for image makers, to promote thriving careers and a strong sense of professional ethics. We plan to live by these values and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all photographers, meaning every race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexuality, ability and religion.
Please check out both our local and national benefits of being a member, learn more about ASMP Colorado and our national organization, and come to our events to see who we are, meet some of us and hopefully learn something new.
