The Perils and Purpose of Photojournalism: An Evening with Greg Constantine
October 15, 7-8:40 PM
Documentary photographer Greg Constantine has traveled the globe to capture images and
stories related to human rights, injustice, and inequality. His long term project, Nowhere People,
took over a decade to complete and documents the struggles and plight of stateless communities
of the world. Showing examples of his work, Constantine will describe some of his most memorable
encounters as he documented the lives of those arbitrarily denied and stripped of their citizenship.
We will also discuss how such photos may serve as a call to action.
An exhibition of work from Greg Constantine’s new project, titled Seven Doors, exploring and
exposing the impact and trauma of immigration detention in the United States will open at
Roosevelt University’s Gage Gallery on October 17.
