SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER- Photography by ASMP Legend Eddie Adams
On view through June 24, 2018

Through stunning black and white portraits taken by Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Eddie Adams, this exhibit celebrates those who have worked tirelessly to fight for various freedoms and urges visitors to #TAKEASTAND against current human rights violations.

Kerry Kennedy spent several years interviewing human rights defenders from around the world for the book Speak Truth to Power. The project has since grown into a multi-faceted campaign for advocacy.

Eddie Adams is best known for his 1968 Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph of Vietnamese Gen. Nguyen Ngọc Loan, the chief of the national police, executing a Vietcong prisoner. But for close to 3,000 photographers, emerging and established, young and older, his influence has been felt on the fields on a little farm in Upstate New York, just minutes from Jeffersonville. It’s there that Adams founded, 30 years ago, the Eddie Adams Workshop, where 100 young photographers with five years or less of professional experience would come for a few days to meet, discuss and work with some of the most respected photographers in the industry.

Where The Children Sleep

This provocative multi-media exhibit features powerful photos and film of Syrian refugee children in Europe and the Middle East by award-winning Swedish photojournalist Magnus Wennman.

Where the Children Sleep is a wake-up call; a poignant story of what happens when children are displaced and must sleep on the streets and in fields as they await an uncertain future.

Take A Stand Center

A “must see” is our new, first in the world, interactive, holographic Survivor Stories Theater. Your group will hear a Survivor’s personal story and, through Voice Recognition Technology, and be able to ask any question of the “Survivor” that comes to mind – the hologram answers hundreds of questions from an extensive databank of recorded messages from the Survivors.
