We’re Hiring: Social Media Coordinator & Administrator

OPEN POSITION: SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR & ADMINISTRATOR

The American Society of Media Photographers Chicago/Midwest is looking for a part-time Administrator & Social Media Coordinator! The person in this position will work approximately 10-15 hours a month to support the ASMP Chicago/Midwest Chapter. We are currently working on a number of initiatives in 2024 and would love for someone to jump into this role to provide support! ASMP is a membership organization that builds a supportive community for photographers focusing on business resources, educational programs and networking opportunities. If you are an organized and enthusiastic self-starter who wants to help build community in photography and the arts, this may be the position for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage ASMP Chicago/Midwest website and communication with current and new members
  • Create and maintain schedule on internal and external calendars, including Eventbrite/Facebook events
  • Create and manage engaging content for social media using tools such as Adobe Creative suite, WordPress and MailChimp
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for events
  • Provide support to ASMP Chicago/Midwest members who have Instagram takeovers
  • Assist ASMP Board in coordinating professional development events
  • Attend monthly board meetings (if remote, join on Zoom when available)
  • Communicate with Chicago photography community to help find organizations to cross-promote/partner with
  • Staff, assist with setup and greet guests at ASMP Chicago/Midwest Events
  • Send welcome emails to new members using ASMP national website database/spreadsheets
  • Work with a great team of dedicated ASMP Chicago/Midwest Board members!

Requirements:

  • Experience managing social media channels and developing social media strategies
  • Experience with administrative tasks and event planning
  • Organized with excellent communication skills
  • Direct experience using social media management tools including WordPress and MailChimp
  • Experience with Google Drive/Docs
  • Passion for growing and supporting Chicago/Midwest photography and art community
  • Background in design with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator, Express) or similar digital media editing tools a plus

We are looking for local or remote qualified candidates who are able to start immediately, have a flexible schedule and can work around 10-15 hours a month. Compensation during the ramp-up period will be $20 an hour, with potential to make $25 an hour after six months, based on qualifications.
