Art & Law: Practice Pointers Selling Art— the Gallery and Legal Perspective Wrap-Up!

Our fifth Art & Law series event was a conversation with Arica Hilton of Hilton Amus Gallery on Thursday, November 8. Hilton provided insight to how gallerists select artists and advice on how to develop in the industry as a photographer, fine artist, video or multimedia artist. Marci Rolnik Walker of Lawyers for the Creative Arts will add perspectives on the legal and business issues involved in gallery sales under the Illinois Consignment of Art Act. The talk covered contract terms, and strategies for setting prices, attracting gallerists, clients, and collectors, and building a strong business.
