Meet Tom Kennedy
New ASMP Executive Director Tom Kennedy took the reins of the organization on January 1st. According to Tom, “I believe the key to ASMP’s future lies in fully serving our members at every stage of their lives and careers, bringing photographers and clients together to address the common challenges we face, and finding solutions that can be shared for the benefit of all. I look forward to productive conversations that will engage us all in moving toward these common goals.” You are invited to join Tom online to discuss the future of ASMP during three January webinars. Choose from any of the following dates: January 26 from 3 – 4 pm, January 27 from 1 – 2 pm or January 28 from 2 – 3 pm (all times are EST). Don’t miss this opportunity to ask questions and communicate your thoughts about the organization.

ON YOUR SIDE
- More on drones…CNN has entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the Federal Aviation Administration to advance efforts to integrate Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) into newsgathering and reporting. The FAA currently prohibits the use of drones in news coverage. Journalists and media companies argue, however, that doing so restricts their First Amendment rights. Learn more here.
