In December, significant changes were made to the federal laws related to drones, including the ban of sales of new drone from certain companies, including DJI, the most popular drone equipment manufacturer for photographers and videographers, and the company of choice for many ASMP Members.
In response to these proposed (and now final) changes, ASMP National Board Chair Kevin Brusie and ASMP CEO Thomas Maddrey drafted a letter to President Trump expressing ASMP’s concern that these sweeping changes would negatively impact not only ASMP & NANPA Members, but all creators. We will continue to monitor and follow up on these changes, and our efforts to further define and benefit our Members in these matters.
