Take Some Me-Time

[By Judy Herrmann]

Keep your business moving forward and your perspective clear by scheduling an hour or two each week for reflection and planning.  Use this time to think about what’s working, what isn’t and what needs to change.

  1. I frequently use my time when traveling and have long waits at airports to reflect and plan ahead. I carry a small notebook with me to jot down ideas because I never know when they’re going to strike.

  2. There is no better advice.

  3. Too funny – I just gave the Taking Control of Your Career seminar in Seattle last night and was talking to a couple of friends here about my love/hate relationship with travel. I always dread going – it’s SO hard to leave my 2 1/2 year old – but then, I get on that plane and WHOOSH – suddenly I’m in this hyper creative, learning, brainstorming, assimilating, making connections mode that I’m simply incapable of achieving at home.
