Adobe, ASMP Cooperate in Assignment Photographer Directory
The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) and Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced a strategic initiative to simplify the designer's task of hiring an assignment photographer. Adobe plans to launch the "Adobe Photographers Directory," a listing of professional photographers accessible directly from within Adobe's creative professional products. ASMP's General members will be the charter photographers listed in this directory.
The Adobe Photographers Directory will be searchable by geographic location and by photographic specialty, and it will include portfolio images. Thus, designers can quickly zero in on the best candidates for the job. And because the photographers' experience and competence are evidenced by their membership in ASMP, designers can feel confident in the professionalism of any one they hire.
Susan Carr, ASMP's president, noted, "This new alliance will create another trusted resource for the design professional." When users of the Adobe Photographers Directory hire ASMP General members, they can be sure of finding photographers who uphold high business standards, are technically competent, and are thoroughly familiar with the needs of the creative professional.
Said Bryan Lamkin, senior vice president of Digital Imaging and Digital Video at Adobe, "When creative professionals are searching for that perfect photograph that reflects their vision, they should be able to find it within the tools they rely on most. That's our goal with this directory."
