Transformations 2008
The fine art of Texas commercial photographers: ASMP's exhibition at Houston FotoFest 2008.
In the Spring 2008 issue of the ASMP Bulletin we featured selected images from ASMP Texas chapter members whose work was included in an exhibition during Houston FotoFest 2008, the largest and most important photography biennial in the United States. The ASMP’s FotoFest exhibit was spearheaded by ASMP/Houston, who solicited images from members of all three Texas chapters. The subject Transformations was one of two official FotoFest themes explored by venues throughout the city. Clint Willour, executive director of the Galveston Art Center and noted photography expert, was selected to curate the exhibit.
In this online gallery, we present all of the 43 images selected for the exhibition plus installation views that show the work as it was sequenced for exhibition by the curator.
Troy Field, president of the Houston chapter, reports an overwhelmingly positive response to the images. “It was the most well attended show of all those I’ve been involved with,” he explains. “People keep telling me how great it was to see such a wide range of work from photographers in the same organization.”
