Country Based/For How Long: St. Lucia (Caribbean)

Nationality: St. Lucian

Photographic Specialty: Weddings, commercial, fine art

For how many years have you worked as a photographer? 16 years.

For how many years have you been an ASMP member? 2 years.

What do you consider to be the most valuable aspect of your membership in the ASMP?

My exposure to other photographers like myself who all appear to share similar problems regarding clients who may wish to dictate terms and conditions for photographers.

What service or information could ASMP provide to you as an international member that would add value to your membership? Would you be willing to pay extra for this service?

Make it so that foreign members didn't have to earn the bulk of their living thru publication photography to qualify for general membership, as this requirement is not feasible in a small country like mine.

Do you participate in any of the existing ASMP specialty groups or listservs? If so, which ones?

No, I would like to join the fine art group but can't figure out how to do this.

Do you belong to other local photographic or professional associations within your local community? If so, which ones?

President, St. Lucia Association of Professional Photographers, BNI.

What is your primary source of news about the photography industry?

Digital Photo Pro and Shutterbug.

In your opinion, what is the most critical issue affecting photographers in your local community today?

Apathy.

In the interest of building community and forging strategic alliances, would you be willing to share resources and knowledge of your local market with another ASMP member if they were to contact you in advance of a trip to your area?

By all means, yes.
