1Knight, born Pierre de Rohan, in addition to writing columns on photography for the New York Post and Pic magazine, was a chef, a musician, and a composer, as well as the author of a music column syndicated in more than 450 newspapers. He was popular and influential on New York’s photographic scene and worked tirelessly and selflessly to get the SMP off the ground.
